The story of PRA Foundation<\/strong> begins with a mother’s love and a desire to balance her career with motherhood. Dr. Prajakta Borade-Kolapkar<\/strong> started a daycare center to be close to her daughter, Gargi. Initially, the center catered to children with typical development. However, Prajakta’s compassion for all children led her to include children with special needs.<\/p>\n

One day, while visiting the home of a special needs child, Prajakta witnessed a heartbreaking scene. The child’s mother was praying for her child’s early death. This deeply affected Prajakta, and she realized the immense challenges faced by parents of children with disabilities.<\/p>\n

A Shift in Focus<\/strong><\/p>\n

The encounter with the child’s mother marked a turning point for Dr. Kolapkar. She decided to dedicate her efforts to supporting children with special needs or Person with Disabilities (PwDs). She recognized the urgent need for specialized care and support for these children and their families.<\/p>\n

With this newfound purpose, Dr. Kolapkar transformed her daycare center into a haven for children with special needs. She assembled a team of dedicated professionals who were passionate about providing holistic care and support. The center offered a safe and nurturing environment where children could learn, grow, and develop to their full potential.<\/p>\n

Overcoming Challenges and Making a Difference<\/strong><\/p>\n

The journey of establishing PRA Foundation was not without its challenges. Dr. Kolapkar faced societal stigma, limited resources, and a lack of awareness about the needs of children with disabilities. However, her unwavering commitment and determination drove her forward.<\/p>\n

Through her tireless efforts, PRA Foundation has become a beacon of hope for countless families in Maharashtra. The organization has provided specialized care, education, and support to children with disabilities, enabling them to lead more fulfilling and independent lives. Dr. Kolapkar’s vision has transformed the lives of many and has inspired others to join the cause of disability inclusion.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Here specials are kept for whole day and taken care of all their needs. They are also picked from their doorstep and drop at their door step. We also provide them night care. Where parents can leave their child from 6pm to 10 pm and they are taken care.<\/span><\/p>\n

Residential facility along with meals and medical care are provided for all individuals and channelizes their energy to produce valuable products. “PRA” ensures that specials are looked after when their parents are unable to do so. This facility offers a safe and supportive living environment for those in need.<\/span><\/p>\n
